On February 2nd, 2010, Bac Kan province warmly welcomed the official visit of Comrade Nguyen Sinh Hung, Poliburo Member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister and the delegation including heads of Government Office, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Planning and Investment. Mr. Le Quang Binh, Bao Viet Holdings’ Chairman of the Board joined this delegation.

At the meeting, Bac Kan Provincial Party’s Standing Committee, Bac Kan People’s Committee, and key officials highly appreciated Bac Kan’s 2009 achievements with economic growth of 10.18%, surpassing last year (9.81%), the poor family rate decrease of 4% from 2008. The entire province has eradicated over 1000 temporary and bamboo homes for the poor. Especially, after one year implementing the Government’s Resolution 30a/2008/NQ-CP on the Support Program for Sustainable Rapid Poverty Alleviation Pac Nam district has lowered its poverty rate 4.08%, Ba Be district 11%.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Quang Binh, Bao Viet Holdings’ Chairman of the Board emphasized the tight coordination between Bao Viet and Bac Kan province throughout Resolution 30a’s implementation process at Pac Nam district.Specifically in 2009, Bao Viet Holdings has supported VND2.05 billion for temporary home eradication and completed 402 homes for the people of Pac Nam.

In the coming time, Bao Viet Holdings will continue its coordination with Bac Kan Province in implementing Resolution 30a with an emphasis on temporary home eradication; education support through standardizing Pac Nam’s day-boarding schools at the villages; upgrading, building health facilities for the communes in Pac Nam district. According to the 2010 plan, Bao Viet Holdings estimated a financial support of VND3 billion to step by step carry out this program.
